About Us

Since 2007, Friends of Cheasty Greenspace Mt. View (FCGMV) has been an active, community-led volunteer organization in SE Seattle dedicated to reclaiming, restoring, reimagining, and reconnecting Cheasty Greenspace, the largest wooded parkland in the Rainier Valley.

FCGMV is restoring habitat and increasing safe and welcoming access to nature and recreation. Cheasty Greenspace is a 43+ acre forested space located between three light rail stops (Beacon Hill, Mount Baker, and Columbia City).

FCGMV is restoring Cheasty Greenspace by removing garbage and invasive species, and planting native trees and shrubs.  FCGMV, in partnership with with Seattle Parks and Recreation, is working together on the Cheasty Mt. Bike Pilot project to evaluate mountain biking in a Seattle Parks.
